Can I voluntarily suspend my licence?
Under section 58 of the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 you can ask the Registrar to suspend your licence for a specified period. At the end of the period you specify, your licence will automatically revive.
You cannot suspend your licence retrospectively.
It is important to note that you cannot carry out any real estate agency work during the period that your licence is suspended.

What does it cost to voluntarily suspend my licence?
The following fees are associated with suspending your licence:
- Application to suspend a licence fee: $95.00

Application to suspend a licence fee:
A fee is charged for the voluntary suspension of licences. This fee, $109.25 including GST, is payable at the time the voluntary suspension is requested.
Annual suspension fee:
An annual suspension fee is charged if you choose to suspend your licence for over 12 months. This fee is $109.25, including GST.
Licensees choosing to suspend for over 12 months will be advised and invoiced the annual suspension fee when the anniversary of the suspension is due. If payment is not received the licence can be cancelled under section 54(h) of the Act.
