How will someone prove he or she has a licence?
You will be sent an evidence of licence certificate with your letter of approval. You must show your evidence of licence if requested.
Licensees also have the option of getting a wallet sized plastic evidence of licence that contains an optional photo ID.
This plastic evidence of licence has the following advantages:
- it is small and convenient allowing you to keep it with you at all times
- it is easy to produce on request
- it is durable
- it contains your photo and is a good form of identification to show your clients and members of the public.
When do I have to produce my evidence of licence?
You must produce your evidence of licence (or a copy of it) when asked (refer to section 45 of the Act).
What information is contained on the evidence of licence?
The licence document includes the name of the licensee, the class of licence (agent, branch manager or salesperson's licence) and the date of issue and expiry (refer to form 10 of the Licensing Regulations). Each licence will also have its own registration number, which will be recorded in the register and will be included on the licence document issued by the Registrar. The licence document will bear the Real Estate Agents Authority's seal.
How do I get my plastic evidence of licence?
If your new application or renewal application is approved, you will receive a letter and evidence of licence. This letter will also contain information on how to obtain an optional plastic evidence of licence. You will need to go to an Automobile Association (AA) driver licence counter to obtain this. There is a small charge of $17.50 to get a plastic licence.

No they can't. Companies will continue to receive a paper evidence of licence certificate.
