Compliance Advice will be the best way to deal with the concern if little or no detriment resulted from the behaviour , the behaviour is not on-going, the licensee has not had any previous compliance problems and there are no wider public interest issues arising from the behaviour.
Compliance advice is a letter that we will send the licensee advising them that a concern has been raised and what they need to do to change their behaviour to ensure they comply with the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 (the Act), the Rules and Regulations in future.
What happens and when:
- We will send a compliance advice letter to the licensee concerned. We aim to send this compliance advice letter within 5 working days of receiving the concern.
- A copy of this letter will be sent to the complainant and to the licensee's employer.
We aim to have the concern resolved within 5 working days of receiving it.
