The Real Estate Agents Authority is the regulatory body for the real estate industry. We provide both independent oversight of the industry and increased consumer protection.
We are a Crown entity, established under the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.
Our responsibilities are:
- licensing of people and companies working in the real estate industry
- maintaining a public register of licensees
- investigating complaints
- setting industry standards
- providing information to consumers.
Our Board is made up of up to seven members, at least two members are required to be licensees or former licensees.
