Voluntarily surrendering your licence

You can voluntarily surrender your licence at any time by sending written notice to the Registrar. We will not charge you any fee for surrendering your licence but any fees or levies you have paid for the year will not be refunded.

To surrender your licence

To surrender your licence complete and send us the Notice of Voluntary Surrender of Licence form (.pdf 352KB).

You will be able to suspend, revive, and surrender your licence online using the Licensee Portal later in 2016 - we will let you know when you can do this.

Once your licence has been surrendered

  • The Registrar will record the cancellation in the public register
  • You will not be able to carry out real estate work after your licence has been cancelled
  • The licence fees and levies you have paid for the year will not be refunded

If you wish to do real estate work again in the future

You will need to apply for a new licence and will go through the same process of applying for a licence as new licence applicants.
