Change of circumstances

We record information about licensees on our public register. If your circumstances change you must inform us within 10 days. Details of our notification forms are included on this page.

​Changes you must inform us about are:
  • Any change in your contact information such as business address or phone number
  • Any changes to your name
  • A move to a different agency, change of branch, or a change in the real estate business you work for
  • Anything that causes or may cause you to become prohibited from holding a real estate agent’s licence. Read more about this here.
  • Anything that may result in you no longer being a fit and proper​ person to be licensed as an agent, branch manager or salesperson. Read more about this here​.
  • Any change required as set out in the Real Estate Agents (Licensing) Regulations 2009

Registered companies must also inform us of changes:

  • To the identity of an officer or officers of the company who is licensed as an agent
  • Any change that may result in an officer or officers of the company becoming prohibited from holding a licence
  • Any change that may result in an officer or officers of the company no longer being a fit and proper person to be an officer of a licensee company
  • The appointment of a new officer of the company or the removal or resignation of any existing officer

Letting us know about a change of circumstances

Use the Licensee Portal​ to make updates to the following:
  • Name, address, or phone number (for an individual or company)
  • Your employer (for an individual) or a move from one branch to another
  • Changes to a company's officers (for a company)
  • Changes to the licensees associated with your agency (for a company)

You must contact us if there is:
  • Anything that causes or may cause you to become prohibited from holding a real estate agent's licence (for an individual)
  • Anything that may result in you no longer being a fit and proper person to be licensed as an agent, branch manager, or salesperson (for an individual)
  • Any change that may result in an officer or officers of the company becoming prohibited from holding a licence (for a company)
  • Any change that may result in an officer or officers of the company no longer being a fit and proper person to be an officer of a licensee company (for a company).

Business partnerships require approval
